I love Alice in Wonderland so much! I even have an Alice in Wonderland tattoo, because it’s always been the movie character I connected with the most. She’s so fun, and curious and the whole movie is full of color and flowers and I just love it!

Recently I got to help a friend throw an Alice in Wonderland birthday party for her little girl and it was so much fun! I took plenty of pictures so you can get some inspiration and ideas from what we did, and I’ve included all the free printables I made here for you to print too!

If you’re just here for the free printables, and don’t want to read the tips on printing and instructions on how to put these together below, then you can get those HERE.

How to throw an AMAZING Alice In Wonderland Birthday Party

Every good over-the-top party has some things in common:

  • Good themed food.
  • Fun themed activities.
  • Awesome cake.
  • Themed party favors.
  • Incredible themed decor.

For this Alice in the Wonderland birthday party, decor, cake, and food was easy! We took a lot of things from the movie and incorporated them into the party and then as our activity we ade the party itself a tea party and encouraged guests to dress as such!

Alice In Wonderland Birthday Party Food Ideas

Drink Me Bottles

We filled little bottles with blue kool-aid, but you could also use blue sports drink. We used these bottles from Amazon. Then I printed out the little tags I made onto cardstock paper and used a mini hole punch and some string to tie them to the bottles.

Each party guest got one of these.

Alice In Wonderland Water Bottles

I always like to have water bottles at my parties. It’s easy to customize with printable labels I make, and having water available is a great break from the sweets too. Plus, you need more to drink than those tiny drink me bottles – haha!

These are super easy. Print them on regular water, cut them out, remove the water bottle labels, and then tape these on! Simple!

Cupcake Toppers

Cupcakes are always a fun addition to a party and worked well for the Alice in Wonderland birthday theme since we hosted this one kind of like a tea party.

Print out the cupcake toppers I made onto cardstock paper (there’s only 12 to a sheet, so print as many sheets as you need) and then cut them out.

Tape a toothpick to the back of the circles, and then stick the toothpick into the cupcake!

Wonderland Fruit Salad And Tea Party Sandwiches

The food cards have adorable themed names! Print them out onto cardstock paper, and then cut them out.

Fruit salad can be plain (we did just grapes because the Hatter is Mad and thinks just grapes can be a fruit salad), or you can make a nice blend of all your favorites!

Make some light sandwiches and cut them into fours to make Tea Party Sandwiches perfect for a dainty treat!

Mad Hatter’s Cookies

We had a local baker make some pretty macarons, and all the guests loved them! You could also make your own from this recipe here if you wanted to do them yourself!

Mad Hatter Hat Cake

Didn’t this cake turn out awesome? We found a pic on Pinterest and had a local baker put her own twist on it, and it fit the theme perfectly!

Upelkuchen Cakes

Did you know the name of the little mouse in Alice in Wonderland is Upelkuchen? Now you do. Make any kind of little cakes to have as his little tea cakes for the party!

This was fun to put together! We made a few of these fancy hats and set them around the party. Use cardboard and scraps of fabric and scarves and jewelry you already have to make these!

I also made a cute banner you can print off on cardstock paper and cut out to hang at your Alice in Wonderland birthday party!

These are so simple to print and hang. Print the banner on cardstock paper and cut it out. Use a hole punch on the top corners and then run a string or ribbon through and hang it.

Alice In Wonderland Dress

Alternatively, you could buy them on Amazon from the party supply list I made HERE.

Alice In Wonderland Party Favors

Take Me Bags

After the tea party was over, and before guests left our Alice in Wonderland birthday party, we let each guest pick out a tea cup and saucer the loved and let them take it home as their party favor!

This made for a fun way to use the decor we bought as the party favors and the guests loved it!

GENERAL PRINTABLE PARTY PACK TIPS

PRINTING

I get these printed professionally to save on ink and to make sure they’re high quality. I find it cheaper for me to have some place like Staples or the UPS Store print these for me than it is to use my printer’s ink. Maybe I just need a new printer.

Print everything BUT  the water bottle labels on cardstock. Print the water bottle labels on regular paper so they’re more pliable.

Check the printable pack before printing so you can make sure you get enough of each item that you need. I only include a single sheet of water bottle labels (which is 5 labels) so if you’re planning on having 30 bottles of water, make sure you print six of that page so you have enough. Use that same line of thinking with food cards, cupcake toppers etc.

CUTTING

Channel your inner Kindergarten self and do your best cutting along the edges of these. When in doubt, go into the edge of the color to ensure there are no white edges. White edges will make it look sloppy. Use good scissors or you’ll be mad.

SUPPLIES

Outside of the printables, you will need a few other things to make your printables work for your party.

You will also need:
Scissors
Hole Punch
Mini Hole Punch
Tape
Toothpicks
Ribbon or Twine

No matter how big or small your Alice In Wonderland Party is, I’m sure it will be amazing! If you used any of my ideas or printables, I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
