There’s always a thousand adorable mugs this time of year, and this hot cocoa gift idea is the perfect excuse to buy some!
Not everyone likes coffee, but just about everyone loves a nice cup of hot chocolate! Pair it with a cute mug, some marshmallows, a couple of candy canes, and a fun printable gift tag to tie it all together and you have an adorable gift that fast and affordable.

How do you make this DIY Hot Cocoa Gift?
Step 1: Gather your supplies.
You will need:
- Cute Mug
- Free Printable Hot Cocoa Gift Tags
- Hot Cocoa (I used two packets)
- Candy Canes (I used two)
- Marshmallows
- Little Clear Bag
- Ribbon or Twine
- Cardstock Paper
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
Step 2: Print and cut your tags.
When you print these tags out, use cardstock paper. This will make your tags sturdy, and keep them from wrinkling or tearing easily.
You can find cardstock paper on Amazon here, or in the office supplies section at Walmart or Target.
The tags will print six-to-a-page, so keep that in mind when you’re planning.
Cut the tags out with a sharp pair of scissors, and then use a hole punch in the handle section of the tag and tie a ribbon through it.
Step 3: Assemble your hot cocoa gift.
Put a large handful of marshmallows into a small clear treat bag and tie it off with a ribbon.
In your cute Christmas mug add a couple packets of hot cocoa, your bag of marshmallows, and a couple of candy canes.
Add the printable gift tag to your DIY hot cocoa gift, or leave it off depending on your preference.
Pro Tip: Buying these gift sets at Walmart that are boxed are about $10.00. This on you can make yourself easily for about $2.00! Find adorable mugs at the dollar store if you need to keep the price low!
