I love teaching my kids the real meaning for holidays like Easter and Christmas. Last year we made the Jelly Bean Prayer together, and they had a ton of fun.

This year we’re making this Easter Story Snack Mix that tells the whole story on the printable label. It’s super cute, and even includes Scripture references so they know where the verses can be found.

I also love that this snack mix is a nice blend of salty and sweet and isn’t just candy.

If you’re just here for the free printables, and don’t want to read the tips on printing and instructions on how to put these together below, then you can get those HERE.

How do you make Easter Story Snack Mix?

Step 1: Gather your supplies.

You will need:

  • Free Printable Easter Story Snack Mix Label
  • Goldfish
  • Round Crackers
  • Mini White Marshmallows
  • Easter M&M’s
  • Red Jelly Beans (they sell packs of just reds from Brach’s)
  • Pretzel Sticks
  • Sandwich Baggies
  • Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Stapler

Step 2: Cut and print the label.

When you print off the label, it will look like this. They only print one label per sheet, so keep that in mind if you need multiples.

Pro Tip: Print these on cardstock paper. Regular paper is too flimsy and won’t hold up well for these.

Each piece of the snack mix has a part in the Easter story.

  • Pretzel Sticks – the cross. “…carrying his own cross…they crucified Him.” – John 19:17-18
  • Red Jelly Beans – the blood of Jesus. “…the blood of Jesus purifies us.” -1 John 1:7
  • Round Crackers – the tombstone. “…the stone had been rolled away.” -Mark 16:4
  • White Marshmallows – white as snow. “…though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.” -Isaiah 1:18
  • Goldfish – fishers of men. “…I will make you fishers of men.” -Matthew 4:19
  • M&M’s – sweet treat. “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” -Psalm 34:8

Step 3: Make the Easter Story Snack Mix.

You can either mix all of the components to the Easter Snack Mix together in a big bowl and put handfuls in the sandwich bags, or you can just add a small handful of each component to each bag.

I chose the latter version, so I made sure to get some of each part of the Easter Story Snack Mix into each bag.

Step 4: Attach the label.

Fold your Easter Story Snack Mix printable label in half, and staple it to the bag of snack mix with a staple on each side.

That’s all there is to making the Easter Story Snack Mix! I can’t wait to give these to my kids so we can talk through the whole story together!
