How do you make a Pumpkin Spice Latte Candle?

Making this candle is so super simple, you’re going to wonder why you’ve never done it before! It’s as simple as melting the wax, attaching the wick to the bottom of the cup, adding the candle dye and the scent, pouring it into the cup, and letting it cool, but I’ll break it down step by step below. Keep reading to see where I found the EXACT scent of a PSL!

Step 1: Measure the candle wax.

I used this Starbucks mug to add the perfect touch to this, but you can use whatever container you want. You will need about 1.5 times as much wax as your container will hold. So for this cup, I filled it up with the wax flakes once, and then filled it half way, and that’s how much wax I needed to melt to fill the cup.

Step 2: Melt the Wax

Use a double boiler, or a glass or stainless steel bowl over a pot of boiling water, and melt down your wax flakes. After they’ve melted, add in your candle dye and your scent. I found this Pumpkin Spice Latte scent on Amazon HERE and it’s an EXACT match to a Starbuck’s PSL!

I only added a little of the candle dye. A Pumpkin Spice Latte doesn’t look very dark brown because of the milk in the drink, so I tried to mimic that. You wax should look like above to get the final color I achieved.

Step 3: Attach the wick.

I used these wicks for this candle, and they were perfect. Add a dot of hot glue to the bottom of the metal wick holder, and glue it to the center of the bottom of your Starbucks mug. Wait ten seconds to let it dry, and then wrap the excess wick around a pencil to hold it in place while you pour the melted wax in.

Step 4: Pour the wax to finish the Pumpkin Spice Latte Candle

Carefully pour in the hot wax into your Starbucks mug. Set it aside and let it cool for 6-8 hours. I left mine on my kitchen counter overnight, and it was perfect. Trim the excess wick, leaving about an inch left to light your candle.

This Pumpkin Spice Latte Candle makes an awesome gift for anyone who loves fall! I even made a regular coffee-scented version of this that you can see the tutorial for HERE. It’s great for a gift you can give year-round to the coffee-lover!
