I’ve owned cats my whole life. I LOVE cats and their quirky personalities! We have two large cats. We have a Siamese named Fitz (from the Marvel show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and a Savannah named Proton (we rescued him with that name and it just stuck.) Through the years of owning a cat, I’ve learned several things that you should just own if you have cats. Below are the 7 things you should be buying for your cat!

7 Things You Should Be Buying for Your Cat!
1. LitterMaid® Premium Walnut Cat Litter
If you have a cat, you likely have a cat box, and you need to get the LitterMaid® Premium Walnut cat litter to go in it! When I first heard of it, I wondered, because of the name, if it was made from walnut shells, and it is! It’s 100% fragrance free, which is really important to us. One of our cats has had issues with other cat litters that use fragrance and we always use a fragrance free litter.
On top of this being fragrance free, it’s made from just walnut shells. It has a VERY low dust factor, and it clumps really well. It helps keep the smell down better than any other litter we’ve used. Find it at Walmart in the cat litter section!
2. Omega Paw Elite Self Cleaning Roll ‘n Clean Litter Box
You’re going to click the link, and then you’re going to say, “I’m not paying that for a cat box!” I know, because that’s what I told my husband when he said he wanted to get one. I couldn’t really argue, because I was pregnant at the time and he was having to clean the catbox himself. He bought it, and WOW is it worth every single dime! It has made changing the catbox a 30 second chore. I kid you not. Not only is it super easy, it keeps the litter fresher longer and saves you money in the long run.
3. Carpet Cat Scratcher
I just can’t make myself buy a cat tree. They’re huge and awesome, but they just feel like they go a little too far for me! Our cats use and love this cute smaller version, called a Carpet Cat Scratcher. It’s small enough to store easily, is not an eye-sore, and gives them an outlet to play and scratch without me yelling at them!
4. Automatic Cat Waterer
Cats drink an insane amount of water. This waterer makes it where you have to fill the water bowl less often, and they can’t knock it over and spill it. On top of that, the one I linked to specifically has a filter in it to keep harmful bacteria from growing in the water, which happens with some automatic waterers. That bacteria is one of the reasons most cats don’t want to drink from their bowls.
5. Automatic Cat Feeder
My cats get REALLY obnoxious when they’re hungry. Actually, one of my cats, who normally doesn’t like to be cuddled, gets REALLY lovey and sweet when he’s hungry. I tease and tell him all the time that if he’s going to be so cuddly when he’s hungry I’m going to start starving him (for the record, I wouldn’t do this, and he’s a giant 19 lb cat, he’s not starving.) This automatic food dispenser holds up to 6 lbs of food, and keeps it fresh, only dispensing a little at a time. It’s a must have on the 7 things you should be buying for your cat!
6. Mini Mouse Toys
Not Minnie Mouse, mini mouse, as in little tiny mice. My cats love the little tiny stuffed mice. They’re the perfect size for them to carry around, they don’t make noise so it can’t drive me crazy when they play, and they last forever! Having them keeps them from stealing my kids’ tiny stuffed animals!
7. Burt’s Bees Cat Wipes
On my list of 7 things you should be buying for your cat, these one of my favorites! They don’t replace baths, but they do reduce the amount of times you need to bathe your cats. They’re dander reducing wipes and help them smell fresh and amazing. Giving my cats a bath is not a fun activity. These wipes are AWESOME and have no cat drama involved. GET THEM.
