Aren’t these cupcakes adorable?! They look like I have decorating skill, when the actual fact is I have ZERO skills in that area. NONE.
However, I can squiggle some melted chocolate onto wax paper, which is basically what this is. They turn out super cute, and I love the little accents I found to add to them and give them character too!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays to decorate little goodies. All the colors are bright and cheery, and it’s SPRING so it’s getting warmer, and it all just makes me really happy.
Cupcakes are my go-to sweet treat because they’re simple, and when in doubt I can have my hubby make them for me, and I can decorate them later. He’s awesome like that.
How to make these Bunny and Chick Cupcakes
You will need:
Chocolate boxed cake mix
Chocolate tub of frosting
Cupcake liners
Edible grass OR edible grass sprinkles
Yellow melting candy
Orange melting candy
White melting candy
Pink melting candy
Chick and Bunny accessories sprinkles (these are what MAKE these cupcakes!!!)

Make your cupcakes as directed on the box. Allow them to cook completely. While you’re waiting on them to cook and cool, you can make the ADORABLE toppers for the Bunny and Chick Cupcakes.
Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper. Melt yellow melting candies in a microwave-safe bowl until they can be stirred smooth.

Put the melted yellow candy into a piping bag, or do like I did and put it into the corner of a ziploc baggie.
Snip the end off the baggie or piping bag, and make overlapping ovals onto the wax paper.
When you’re done making the ovals, add their cute little glasses directly onto them. Then melt some orange melting candies and add them to a piping bag or baggie the same way you did the yellow, and pipe on a cute orange triangle for the chick’s beak.

Next you’re going to do the bunnies. I used a melting candy that had little speckles of blue, green, and red in it, because it was what I had on hand. You should not do that.
The little pieces of color get stuck at the end of the bag and it’s really annoying. Use plain white.
Pipe a big circle for his belly, a smaller circle for his head (think snowman at this point) and then squiggle on ear shapes at the top.
Press on his cute little bow tie. I also used pink melting candies to squiggle on the insides of his ears, but you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to.

Stick the cookie sheet into the freezer on a flat surface and let the chocolate completely harden.
While you wait, you can frost the cupcakes. I used chocolate to resemble dirt. Then I found these awesome green grass sprinkles. I wanted to use edible grass, but couldn’t find any at my store, so this stuff it is.
After about 10-15 minutes, you can take the toppers for your Bunny and Chick Cupcakes out of the freezer. Gently press them into the tops of your frosted cupcakes to finish them off!

Didn’t my Bunny and Chick Cupcakes turn out cute?! The little Chicks look so nerdy and adorable and I LOVE them! The bunnies look so dapper in their bow ties and my daughter loved them the most. I can’t wait to see how yours turn out!
