Why should you make your own Mother’s Day Candy Bouquet?
The biggest reason I decided to write this post, was the fact that Walmart was selling Mother’s Day candy bouquets full of cheap candy (i.e. no chocolate) for $20! I couldn’t believe it. What I really couldn’t believe is that people were buying these as fast as they could be put on the shelves. You can make your own Mother’s Day Candy Bouquet in about 15 minutes (or less) and totally customize the candy that goes in it just for your Mama.
How to make a Mother’s Day Candy Bouquet
You will need:
(3) boxes of theater candy
Floral Foam
Knife
Hot Glue
Tissue Paper
Bamboo Skewer Sticks
Candy
Small Mother’s Day Mylar Balloon (check Walmart or the dollar store)
Ribbon

Step 1: Glue Your Theater Candy Together
It’s easiest to do this with three boxes of the same kind of candy so the shape is a perfect triangle. Run a line of hot glue along the long sides of the boxes and glue them together. Allow the glue to sit for a few minutes while you get the foam ready.
Step 2: Cut the floral foam to shape.
Use a permanent marker to trace the inner triangle shape your boxes made onto the foam. Then use a sharp knife to cut the foam down to that size. Wedge the foam inside your glued boxes, adding a little hot glue to hold it in place if necessary.
Step 3: Attach the tissue paper.
Cut a single sheet of tissue paper into four equal squares. Use your hot glue gun and glue them to the inside of your candy box triangle like shown.
Step 4: Glue the candy to skewer sticks.
Use hot glue to attach your candy to the bamboo skewer sticks.
Step 5: Arrange the candy and balloon.
After all your candy is glued to the sticks, you can press the pointy ends of the skewers into the floral foam. Arrange is however you want, but it’s best to put taller, larger candy in the back. Add the balloon to the very back of the Mother’s Day Candy Bouquet. I found mini mylar balloons next to the greeting card aisle in Walmart for $0.97.
Step 6: Add the bow. (Optional.)
To finish off the Mother’s Day Candy Bouquet, tie a small bow out of ribbon and hot glue it to a bamboo skewer. Place the skewer in the foam at the front of the candy bouquet.
That’s it! That’s all there is to making a DIY candy bouquet. It’s easy, but is also a very thoughtful gift that any Mom would appreciate!
