I love snow globes. I had a couple of really beautiful ones growing up as a little girl. I’ve made some before, but when you place items in water that will stay submerged in water for a very long time, you have to take a lot of steps to make sure they stay looking the way they did when you put them in there. So, this year I decided to make a Waterless Snow Globe.
I am in love with how this Waterless Snow Globe turned out! It’s one of a kind, was cheap to make, and looks really good on my bookshelf! It’s so super simple to make. You can be done with this craft in less than five minutes, and that’s my kind of DIY!

Waterless Snow Globe
You will need:
Wide Mouth Mason Jar (I used a quart jar)
Fake Snow
Small Bottle Brush Tree
Vintage Truck ( you can always use a replica if you can’t find a vintage one for cheap. I found mine for $1 at my local antique store because it was missing a wheel!)
Making Your Waterless Snow Globe
After you have your supplies gathers, making the Waterless Snow Globe is very simple! I used Boston fake snow, which is really like shredded white plastic and sits well for this type of project. I found mine at Walmart in the Christmas section by the bottle trees for less than $3 for a giant bag. I used hot glue to attach my mini bottle brush tree into the back of my little vintage truck. The truck was a tad bit bigger than a modern day Hot Wheels car.

You have a couple of options here. You can either put in a handful of the fake snow, and then stick your truck and tree inside, replace the lid on the mason jar, and let it sit on your shelf. OR you can place some hot glue on the bottom of the wheels of your truck, secure it inside the jar where you want it, add in the snow after the truck is secured, and replace the mason jar lid and display. One of the options is a little more secure than others, but the first option allows you to change things as needed year after year. I chose the first option so I can change it up when I want to.
