For the last year, I’ve been working on putting together this gift of a Year of Towels. Everyone loved them!

I couldn’t WAIT to give the gift of a Year of Towels this year for Christmas. I gave them to both of my sisters, and also as my “girl gift” (we do a drawing at my husband’s family Christmas) this year. It was a hit, not only for those who received it, but for everyone who watched the gift being opened!

The great thing about this gift is that it’s thoughtful, inexpensive, and technically DIY without requiring any crafting talent WHATSOEVER (because I even designed the cute printable tags for you to finish your gift and am giving them to you to print FOR FREE). It’s also a perfect gift for just about woman in your life, or even men who enjoy the kitchen and cooking! It would make a great gift for grandmas, sisters, moms, teachers, aunts, co-workers, new brides and the list goes on and on!
This is something that needs to be kept up on year-round though, for it to be the cheapest. I wait til the very start of each season (stores like Walmart and Dollar General always ut out seasonal stuff super early making this easy for me) and I buy several of each towel for each season, just in case I want to give the gift of a Year of Towels to someone I didn’t anticipate being on my list. Towels are anywhere from $0.88 each, to $2 each depending on where I get them. Buy early in the season, or as soon as they put them out, for the best selection. I link you to some of my favorites for each month of the year below, just in case you didn’t catch this post before January.

Year of Towels
You will need:

After you have all your towels bought, you’re ready to put your Year of Towels gift together! Fold them all to be about the same size, and order them from January-December.
The printable tags for the Year of Towels gift print on a single sheet of cardstock, so you won’t have to use a ton of paper.
Cut out all the tags, and the banner at the top. The tags aren’t too detailed, so it doesn’t take long to cut them out. Using cardstock will ensure the tags don’t easily get ripped off. Each tag is themed after the holiday or season that month represents and they turned out so cute! Print them for free HERE. You will need to sign-up for our e-mail newsletter to get access to our free printables library, but once you sign up, you’ll have access to everything in there for free! Once you have them cut out, use a hole punch to punch a hole where the little circle is at the top of each tag.
For each towel, take about a foot of curling ribbon and tie it in a knot around the towel. The edges of your towels should pucker just a bit, but don’t tie it tightly at all. Once the ribbon is tied on the towel, push both ends of the ribbon through the hole on the tag, then use scissors to curl the ribbon. This will make sure the tag stays put.
Once you’re finished attaching all the tags, stack them in order from January to December on top of each other. Punch a hole in both sides of the Year of Towels banner you cut out, and use ribbon to tie it on to the entire bundle. This holds the entire bundle together, and lets them know the nature of the gift as soon as they open it. I tie mine in a knot on the bottom of the bundle, then curl the ends of the ribbons.
