Help your kids gain addition fact fluency with this super fun math game bingo! Our free download includes 6 unique bingo cards and 3 different sets of calling cards, so that you can help your children understand the different ways an answer can be reached!
Learning is always more fun when a game is involved. So when my son started to struggle with addition facts, I wanted to create an easy but engaging game that would help him solidify those facts quickly!
Addition Facts Bingo Math Game
While I designed this math game for my homeschooled son, it can be played in a classroom setting too! With 6 unique cards, you can enjoy this with a group of kids as well!
With double-digit answers, this addition facts game is best played with 1st to 3rd graders!
1. Gather Your Supplies
You will need:
- A color printer (not a requirement, but it is more fun!)
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Markers or game pieces to mark numbers
- A little prize – this is completely optional, but it can be fun sometimes to include a small prize for the winner!
2. Download the Printable Bingo Game File

Once you have the file, you can print as many copies of the cards as needed for your group.
I like to print these on cardstock, but if you don’t have any on hand, that’s no problem! Just print on regular paper! The colors will be a bit dull, and if you’re using dot markers, they may bleed through on regular paper… so just be aware!
There are also 3 unique sets of calling cards (the questions the kids need to solve to find the answer).
3. How to Play
The process for playing this math game is simple! You’ll want to explain the concept of bingo (5 in a row across/down/diagonally wins!)
From there, it’s easy!
- Cut up the calling cards and fold them in half. Place them in a bowl or jar and give them a good shake.
- Draw one at a time and ask the question (i.e. 2+7) and then give the kids a moment to complete the problem in their heads
- Remind the kids to find and mark the number a few times in the beginning (and not to call out the answer!).
- Continue drawing cards and asking questions until there is a winner!
The Reason for Multiple Calling Card Sets
As I mentioned earlier, there are 3 unique sets of calling calls, but you might be wondering why?
Well, for the simple reason that you can get to the same answer in more than one way! This will help kids solidify the concepts in multiple different ways.
For example: 7 can be reached by adding 2 to 5, or by adding 1 to 6, or by adding 3 to 4!
So these calling cards have 3 different questions that each yield the same answers.
This also helps extend the gameplay, especially if you’re playing with just one or two children. They can grab a new card, you can grab the next set of calling cards, and then the whole game starts again!
