I love it when my kids give me gifts they’ve picked out themselves. I love seeing how their little minds worked, and how they paid attention to things I liked to pick out what they did – it’s precious!
Sometimes kids can have big ideas for gifts, without realizing how much money they cost. The great thing about this DIY Mother’s Day Seed Gift is that you can get seeds for as low as $0.20 each at places like Dollar General and kids can have all the control over which packet they give to Mom for Mother’s Day, without breaking the bank.
If you’re just here for the free printables, and don’t want to read the tips on printing and instructions on how to put these together below, then you can get those HERE.
How do you make this DIY Mother’s Day Seed Gift?
Step 1: Gather your supplies.
You will need:
- Seeds (any kind your little one picks out!)
- Free Printable Mother’s Day Seed Packet Label
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun or Stapler
STEP 2: Print the Mother’s Day Seed Gift Labels.
I always print these kinds of things on cardstock paper, instead of regular paper. Cardstock paper will be more firm and will hold up better, especially when little hands are helping to make it!
Use scissors to cut out the number of seed gift labels you will need. They print four to a page, as shown above, so keep that in mind when printing.
STEP 3: Attach the label to the seeds.
Each label has this Mother’s Day saying:
“These seeds will grow and remind you each day, I love you and Happy Mother’s Day!”
It’s the perfect saying to make Mom tear-up and to remind her just how much all her love and hard work goes into helping her kids grow each day.
Fold the labels in half before attaching them to the seed packets. To attach them to the seeds, you can either use a hot glue gun or a stapler.
If you are having your kids help to make these, they will need adult supervision for either one of those options.
I used hot glue because it gave it a prettier finish and I like the way these Mother’s Day Seed Gifts turned out!
These would be perfect to hand out at Churches, for school teachers to make with their kids, or even for families with several children to all be able to give mom a unique gift that they picked out, without spending a ton of money!
