I’ve seen several Lego Valentines on the internet, but all of them just included random Legos. Random Legos are cool, but I thought it would be really neat if they could include a tutorial on how to make a Lego heart with the Lego Valentines as well!

If your kids are anything like mine, they love Legos! Lego Valentine Kits were too expensive to give as classroom Valentines, and are limited in stock each year.
Instead, I decided to create something myself and make it available to you as a free printable too! Scroll down to see what all is included in these Lego Valentines and to get the free printables!
How to make Lego Valentines:
Step 1: Gather your supplies.
- Free Printable Lego Valentine Toppers AND Lego Heart Instruction Sheets
- Lego Heart Pieces (Specific brick list is below – I got mine from Lego Pick a Brick online HERE, but you can also get them in a Lego store)
- Cardstock
- White Copy Paper
- 3″ x 4″ Baggies (I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but you can also get them on Amazon HERE.)
- Stapler
Step 2: Print out the labels and instructions.
Each of the Lego Valentines will include one of these. I designed this and made this instruction sheet to include it with your Lego Valentines so you’re not just giving random Legos with your Valentines.
You obviously still could give random Legos if you wanted, but I thought it was a neat idea to let the receiver make something with the Legos they got. These are designed in black and white so they’re more cost-effective to print. They print (4) to a page.
Step 3: Gather your Legos.
The exact Lego pieces you will need for these Lego Valentines:
(4) 1×1 Bricks
(2) 1×2 Bricks
(4) 1×2 Roof Tiles
(1) 1×6 Brick
(6) 1×2 Inverted Roof Tiles
You can order these online through Lego’s Pick a Brick section. Click this link HERE, then click, “Categories” then click, “Pick a Brick” and from there you can copy and paste the names I gave you above and select colors and quantities.
This allows you to only order the exact kind and color of Legos you want for your project. If you happen to live close enough to a Lego store, I would use that option instead. Their online Pick a Brick store takes about 2 weeks to get to you after you order, so keep that in mind.
Put all the pieces to make your Lego Heart into the 3″ x 4″ bag, along with the Lego Heart building instructions.
Using the instructions, this is what the Legos will make when you build the heart. Doesn’t it turn out cute?! I wanted mine to be all red, but you can mix up the colors, or make them all blue, or all purple etc.
Step 4: Staple on the tag.
This is what they will look like once you staple the toppers onto the bags! Be careful not to staple through the instructions! I left the back of the topper blank so kids can write their names there if they want.
I also got some feedback from some boy moms, and made half of the toppers you will print with a red heart, so not all of them had pink hearts.
Print the instructions and the tags for free HERE. The toppers also print (four) to a page, and work best when printed on cardstock, instead of regular paper, so keep that in mind when planning your prints.
