Over the top milkshakes are the new craze in desserts. They’re ridiculous mountains of delicious goodness on top of milkshakes, and people are buying them like crazy! There’s even supposed to be a place in New York that is dedicated to just making these crazy milkshakes. Recently, social media has absolutely flipped their lid about these Oreo Eggs, and the fact that they actually exist. They do exist, and they’re amazing!
We decided to combine those two dessert crazes and make this awesome, over the top Oreo Egg milkshake! It’s actually pretty easy to do, and would make an awesome treat for Easter! The great thing about this shake is that you can make the “cups” in advance, so all that’s left to do when you’re ready for milkshakes, is just make the shake portion, and add your toppings.

The first thing you’re gonna do for your Oreo Egg milkshake, is prepare your cup. I suggest using a glass cup with a smooth surface, because it will make this step easier. In a medium sized bowl, melt your chocolate in the microwave for thirty seconds at a time, until you can stir it smooth. I used about a cup of chocolate chips, and this took me about a minute and a half of microwaving. Take your cup, and dip and roll the rim of it all in the chocolate.
Use a small square of wax paper, and place the cup on the wax paper, upside down, in your fridge for about five minutes. This will give the chocolate a little time to set, before adding oreos and sprinkles. While it’s cooling down, remove the tops from several mini oreos. Remove the cup from the fridge. Gently press the oreo tops all around the top of the cup. Work fast, so they don’t start to slide down the edge of the cup…yes, that’s experience you hear talking.
Stick the cup, upside down, back on the wax paper in the fridge. Sprinkle some of the Easter sprinkles on, and then let it set up for a minimum of 15 minutes, before adding the shake to the cup. You could easily do these the night before if you wanted to make several for Easter.
For your shake, just use a 1:2 ratio for milk and ice cream, since it will vary on how much you need depending on the size of your cup. Blend twice as much ice cream as you do milk, and then add it to your cup. Top it with whipped cream, then add the sprinkles. Stick in your cookies and cream bunny in the back, add a couple of full size oreos, and of course, the oreo egg, and a straw and you’re done!
You’ve now made a masterpiece out of an Oreo Egg milkshake! Enjoy it, because it’s delicious. We won’t even TALK about how many calories this thing has. Let’s just say, it’s more than I normally eat in two days. Okay, I said I wouldn’t talk about it. I lied. Eat your milkshake, and happy Easter!!
