I grew up getting THE BEST apple crisp for dessert about once a month or so. My Mama’s Apple Crisp Recipe is the best apple crisp I’ve ever had and I love how simple it is to make!

Apple Crisp

Mama’s Apple Crisp was always a favorite dessert in our house. Our Daddy loves apple based desserts, and our Mama makes a killer Apple Crisp!

Mama would always ask Daddy if he wanted anything for dessert after dinner, and sometimes when he said yes, she would make this, and it rocked when she did! It would come piping hot from the oven, with vanilla ice cream over the top, making it cool enough to eat.

Mama told us a story from when we were little kids. She hosted a Pampered Chef party just so she could earn the Apple Peeler Corer Slicer for free, because back then she couldn’t afford to just buy it outright. She earned it!

She used it every single time she made this recipe, and to us, no apple crisp is complete without one of those incredible devices! If you don’t have one, you should get one!!

The reason the Pampered Chef Apple Peeler Corer Slicer is so important to this recipe, is that it gets the apples the perfect thickness so there’s no variance in cooking times ever.

You don’t HAVE to use this device when you make this recipe, but I wouldn’t make it any other way. It takes this dessert from time-consuming and difficult, to quick and easy!

  13. Mixture may be gooier than crumbly, that just means you added a bit too much butter. It will still work fine though so no need to fret. Just crumble it as best you can over the top.
  14. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40-50 minutes or until top is nice and crispy.
  15. Best served hot, with vanilla ice cream.
